    I got a whopping minus 80!
So you really think "banjo music" is an oxymoron or were you just trying to pad your score?

-45... always the odd-man-out. I'm still a Deadhead at heart and initially got into bluegrass because Jerry was into it.

FWIW - I subscribe to Sirius XM in my Subaru and have The Bluegrass Channel saved as a favorite but the button never gets pushed and instead stays on The Grateful Dead Channel except for minor detours to The Beatles Channel.

After reading everyone else's scores, I did better than anticipated at -20.

Too many of those questions overlap for a player of Irish traditional music, so I got a completely undeserved -25. Should have been much lower.

My -35 should really be a -45 as I actually don't live in a mobile home

Dang, I'm impressed with scores of 80 in either direction

I got the downward boost by admitting to diminished chords, which is OK with ITM. Pity they didn't ask about mixolydian...

    20. I have to say I'm in a pretty good band situation now where I don't have to travel more than 5 miles for gigs that pay anywhere from $0 to $40.

Got a -35 and dang proud of it! Would have been even lower except for the last question, about the relative monetary value of instrument and vehicle. (That's another thread, BTW.) As I've mentioned many times, I like bluegrass just fine, but believe the mandolin is capable of SO much more than the roles to which most people who don't know any better relegate it.

But I do own this license plate:

-20. I like Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn or it would have been lower.

-35, but it wasn't for lack of trying. I'm surprised it wasn't lower.

-Even when you sing lead, you are singing the high harmony line +10

-3 of the 5 members of your band are first degree relatives, the 4th is married to one, and the 5th is both a relative and married to a relative +50

    - you sport a crew cut and a mullet at the same time +10

    - facial hair originates from the nostrels +40

    - your guitar player has permanently mounted his capo at the 4th fret +10

    - Everyone in the band can actually play every other person in the band's instrument +100

    (ps--my score was -35)

Got a -15. Any extra credit for not knowing what a diminished chord is?

I'm pretty sure that some bluegrassers play Doc Watson's version of Deep River Blues ... that's one of several songs in my guitar repertoire that uses a diminished chord. How can you play it without the Edim7? Then again, "That ain't bluegrass" and I suppose "That ain't no part of nothin'".

I made it to -70 without the diminished chords. I may have to open that Malbec I've been saving for a special occasion!

I am damned by my ownership of a couple Miles Davis CDs and 3 solid body electric mandolins. ;-)

That was not one I ticked - I like banjo music and play both 4 and 5 string banjo. I got that score in spite of liking banjos.
