I am enjoying a pleasant case of MAS and considering my next mando trade. I've had two in-the-know mando players recently tell me to consider a Stanley. I did a search and found a couple of threads but neither contained a lot of information about the mando, perhaps because they are so new and there is so few of them.

So, does anyone here own one? Has anyone played one? Opinions? Pros? Cons? All comments appreciated.

    I have #7.

    Killer mandolin.

See my review in this month's Vintage Gutiar Magazine or see me at RockyGrass academy. I'll have it there for at least three of the four days.

Talk to Charles Johnson at Mandolin World Headquarters, if you haven't already. I believe he like them so much he got one for himself. Frank

I've got #8 and think it's great. I had the opportunity to choose either #7 or #8. Chris played them both for a few days and told me they sounded pretty much identical - so I chose #8 because I liked the look of it's one piece back. I'll be interested to read Steven's review.

The only work I did to mine was to have the extension scooped, and I'll likely have the fingerboard radiused at some point as that's what I prefer. Great sounding mandolin and Chris is a great guy to deal with.

I play a Master Model and a V-Fern and if I was going to have a custom mandolin made it would be by Chris. #They're that good. #I highly recommend his work. #No financial interest, I'm just a huge fan.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I plan to have #11 in my hands next week. Charles was very helpful and even played it for me over the phone.

Thanks to everyone who posted. #11 arrived today.

Only one word to describe it: AWESOME!

BTW: I highly recommend Charles Johnson at World Mando HQ.
