Is any one going to the Great 48 in Bakersfield?

I was the director of the event for a few years and remain on the committee as an advisor. It has gotten to be a huge Bluegrass jamming event held indoors at one of the area's biggest and nicest hotels, the Convention Center Marriott. Jammers of all levels come from all the reaches of California and beyond. We've had attendees from as far away as Hawaii, Wisconsin and a snow bird group from Canada. It's a four day event like a regular festival with everything free of charge except for a Friday night concert that is predominately for the locals. The event is held on the 2nd full weekend in January and the hotel sells out every year. Now is a good time to contact the hotel to secure your room.
