Jethro is sounding very good. That looks like an Ibanez mandolin with a wireless pickup. Could that be? And those Gretch guitars back in those days with the V in the peghead look weird now. Nice touch with the rhinestone guitar strap and bib overalls. Nicer yet that they featured real musicians on Hee Haw from time to time.
Jethro endorsed Washburn mandolins
Definitely the Washburn.

And they look like it’s fun, it also just “flows” out of both of this two! It is such a joy to see two talents like this having such a good time!
Thanks for sharing.

The inlays looked like one of those early Ibanez. Wonder if Ibanez and Washburn mandolins came out of the same factory?
Thank you. That was super fine.Jethro smoking up the fingerboard.

And I actually appreciate the YouTube link since imbedded videos have been just a big black unplayable square for me for the last year or so.

The thing that struck me about Jethro's playing was how little he used his pinky, even on chords.

I think Roy Clark is one of the most unrecognized country musicians out there. He's great on Banjo as well!
Yeah, Jethro said they owed a million! I like how them two seem to 'sway' together throughout the number. And Roy was really paying attention to Jethro.Roy and Jethro were part of the $1M band, along with Chet Atkins and Johnny Gamble, among others.
Thanks for posting, that was great.
I'm an old fart, I remember when Roy Clark was honored as Entertainer of the Year, and for good reason. I study his work from time to time, or rather, I watch videos. Buck Owens was no slouch either, he created a sub-genre (The Bakersfield Sound) ... like David said, musicians who played on Hee Haw were always top of the game.
