    Good evening, gentlemen,
I would like to ask you, whether you know, where my bowlback mandolin is from. I bought it in the Czech republic, so I assume it could be German.

It is either German or Czech. The very big instrument making centres before 1938 were Schonbach- then in Czechoslovakia- now called Luby and Markneukirchen just a few miles away across the border in Saxony, Germany. It is more likely to be German but it might be Czech. Having a few extra photos might a more definitive answer and its age as well.

There's something strange going on where the first fret ought to be.

Central Europe is about as close an attribution as I'd venture to guess. My first mandolin was a bowlback from Czechoslovakia, looked like this one. Sadly it had soft brass frets, which wore out in a year. Cost of refret job was far more than I paid for the instrument.
