Default Any sources of classical works for mando and piano?

I'm exploring the classical side these days, just signed up for the artistworks course.

My mother is an accomplished classical pianist, and can sight read pretty much any accompaniment part ever written, would love to play with her this christmas.

I am looking for works at all levels (mostly beginner and intermediate however). We can both read music pretty well, and easy mando pieces I could probably read through with her, and some intermediate ones I could work up for xmas.

    And tips appreciated, thanks.

If there isn't much for mando + piano, I'm sure there are mountains of student-level violin + piano works I could turn to.

I'm a fan of Serenata Gaia and Tarantella when I play with the wife (she plays the piano)

Beethoven wrote several very nice (and playable ) works for mandolin and piano. I won't post the varied sources, but if you just google Beethoven mandolin piano you will get a number of options and selections.

Ran into some works by victor kioulaphides, wonderful stuff, and some of it within my playing abilities (starting at around half-tempo).

I liked De Grote Markt, and some others might also be playable by me.

Also started working on Beethoven's Sonatina in C, I guess that's one of the standards.

At the risk of engaging in some shameless self-promotion, you might check out http://www.craton.net/music/mandolin/mandolinworks.htm. Some are available for free downloads, other are published.

Thanks for your good words! The works posted as free downloads on that site are for unaccompanied mandolin; that is why I haven't brought them up in the context of this thread. I do, however, have other works for mandolin and piano such as my Rhapsody for Mandolin and Piano or La Monnerie. Both are available, entirely gratis, directly from me. The Rhapsody has an extensive performance history by now, while I am not aware of any performances of the Monnerie as of yet.

    Cheers,
