    Sounds good. You might want to consider putting a clean boost pedal between the mandolin and the DI to get some punch when you solo.

    Could be of interest to El Rey players: an extensive, frank and at times philosophical interview with El Rey designer - luthier Otto D’Ambrosio.

    Listening right now - only seems to mention mandolins in passing around 1.05 but he does talk quite a bit about the original El Rey guitar concept.
