Curious, has anyone played the new dove-tail Webers? Apples-to-apples how do they compare against the older model?
Love my current Weber...but always thinking about what lies over the horizon.

Em Tee, a dovetail is a traditional way of joining the neck to the body, a type of mortise and tenon but V shaped and tapered. It has to be hand fitted and is nothing but wood and glue. The reason it’s a big deal is because it’s a mechanically strong joint on its own. The previous Weber joint, and still used on its less expensive models, is a straight mortise and tenon with glue and two reinforcing bolts. The straight mortise and tenon is not a mechanically strong joint in its own. It needs those bolts, the dove tail does not need them.

Apples to Apples, but not the same variety of apples. There is something a bit different about the new dovetail Webers, I just can't say how much is attributed to the new neck joint as there have been other minor changes made.
