    Unaware I somehow erased my original post. Thank you to those who responded to my questions. I eliminated the MK and the MM and found a Loar 520VS from a reputable dealer at a reasonable price. I look forward to learning the mandolin.

    The Loar is far better than either of the others.

    Some of those MMs look really great, but they aren’t known for sounding the best. Your Loar should be a fine instrument. Have fun with it.
