Thank you.

I have that same tailpiece on my '58 Gibson A-5, although it's gold plated not nickel.

Hughes A model #1
1922 Gibson A-2
1958 Gibson A-5
That helps. Assuming yours is original? This was on a 1923 A model I purchased in 1999.

My A-40, late 50's/early 60's. May not be original to the mandolin.
I think Alan's is probably original. The OP's is straight from the electric guitar era as Gibson wasn't using that logo earlier than 1947.

I agree with Mike, I have a '60's Gibson with the same tailpiece cover logo.

Ok, so it looks like it dates from the late 50's-early 60's. Thank you all for your interest and help!

I have the same on my '57 A-5.

Anyone got a pineapple?
I have a friend that plays a 70's Gibson F5 with a pineapple tailpiece on it.

I have a F5L tail peace cove Gold plating is wearing off were can I get it replaced.
What year is your F5-L? Lets see a photo of yours and I may be able to help you out as I have some covers but need to see what yours looks like so I can look? I know this isn't the place to do any deals but I like to help out anyone who needs a part to make their prize whole again! If I have one and strike a deal I'll donate to the café! Send me a private message if you want, but a photo would help big time!
You might check around and see if someone locally could replate it as well.
