Default Replacement Pickup for Carlo Robelli

I've had a Carlo Robelli A-style mandolin for 15 years or so, the one with the built in pickup.

I know Carlo Robelli mandolins are generally frowned upon here on the forum, but for now, that's what I've got.

My question is...if I were to go about replacing the stock pickup, what would you guys suggest? The pickup has a terrible hum if you don't have the tone knob all the way off. EHX Hum Debugger does a good job getting rid of it, but obviously it's not ideal.

Is there an option for me to actually replace that pickup, or would you guys suggest something like the L.R. Baggs Radius pickup?

    Many thanks.

Question Re: Replacement Pickup for Carlo Robelli

any stratocaster format pickup should fit..
maybe you want a stacked coil humbucker?

LR Baggs is a soundboard vibration senor pickup,, different type, use it instead ...

Sounds like a ground problem in the wiring.

Ground the tailpiece to the Jack and I bet it cuts the hum.
