The issue is rather which notes to pick, and how, up or down. Sticking to the key of Eb (or cm in this section) the run starts on a d and ends on an f#. I've tried playing the passage both slowly and deliberately and medium up and in the latter case I found I gravitate towards picking the inital d and then only the even-numbered eighth notes, i.e., D,U, slide, U, slide, U, etc. The a note will be played open, since it's an ascending run.
