    Default Mandozine

With the unfortunate passing of John Baxter, does anyone know if any part of the contents are going to be preserved in some manner? It would be nice of the tab library was merged to this site, as an example.

Bill, you can download all the Tabledit files in a zip file from the mandozine site. The download archive was last updated in 2012, so I’m not sure whether it contains every last file because I don’t know if any were added after that date. I realize this is not what you were asking, but offering that as an FYI.

The tabledit songs seem to be not working...anyone know if the site is being maintained? Or is it the end of an era?

The Internet Archive (AKA The Wayback Machine) appears to have a fairly recent copy of the Mandozine pages that I checked. www.archive.org is the main site. No affiliation with them other than I believe in what they're doing and I toss them a few bucks occasionally.

I checked the Wayback, the tab files seem to not be archived. I did manage to download the allfiles zip from Mandozine, though.

How do you find it on that site? I tried searching and no luck.

Go to www.archive.org and enter www.mandozine.com in the Wayback machine's search box. Select Meta data. You'll get this page. The calendar will be marked. Those indicate the last times the site was archived. Click on the marked dates.

I was fearing the day this was going to happen. I actually downloaded the "all files" tabledit zip a couple weeks ago. It's a shame to lose that amazing searchable database, but here's a link to a copy of the zipped files for now.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-5p...ew?usp=sharing

Of course, if anyone has objections with my sharing I'll take it down immediately. These files were a huge help when I first started playing.

I'm still finding a zip of allfiles at this link.

The files are still viewable and can be downloaded. You might have to save them to your computer to open and view each file. Not sure.

I really hope his family, or someone will make all of his hard work available. Mandozine was the most helpful site for this beginner, and I know for more advanced players, too.

Another big thank you for making this available. I've only been playing a couple of years but Mandozine was my go-to place for a lot of help. I thought I downloaded the zipped files a few days ago but later found out there was nothing there when I went to open it.

    Thank you!
