Default Mandolin that can't be tuned?

Looks like tuning the lower D string and the upper A string would be difficult to impossible.....

It was drilled for worm under tuners and he has worm overs on it. I'd also say he should use old Schaller worm under tuners that have really long posts on them. As it sits, you're right.

Yup, he needs worm under tuners but that's not his only issue...

That's what I would call very "manly" action bordering on becoming a cheese slicer.

From the 6th photo where there is a good shot of the bridge, that can be lowered. He's got the bass end of the bridge jacked up pretty good. Tuners are another story though.

He has a set of plans he's working from and doesn't realize he's drilling for worm under. He may not know there are different tuners.

Look how thick that top is. Combined with the dobro-like action, this is a rough instrument, in terms of playability and likely tone.

EDIT: Found this. This mandolin is featured in this clip from 2014.

Gibson had three point mandolins in the 40's and 50's?

Is there such a thing as a mandolin that CAN be tuned?
