Default 1907 Gibson F 2 in SF Bay Area Craig's List

Has anyone in the San Francisco Bay Area checked this one out? I'm so tempted to take a look but heaven knows I don't need another mandolin! I'm wondering if it is a fixer upper project or if it's in good shape.

No, but now that I've looked at the link I'm tempted to. I don't know much about F2s, but it looks like a cool mandolin.

Go check out the 1911 F4 three point at Schoenberg.
It is amazing, and has the most beautiful Torch and Wire headstock.

CWRoyds, did you play any of the other F2s or F4s at Schoenberg? I've been admiring all the Gibsons he has on his website. They all look remarkable.

I'd say go scoop up unless there is serious damage not shown in pictures. That's like 40% below what they normally go for

Correct on both counts. Wait a minute, are you speculating that either Larry or Neil is selling a 1907 Gibson?

It's in the epicentre of Celluloid Valley, for sure. My brother is in SF at the moment, just 12 stops by train- I ought to get him to check it out- but he's a banjo man which might not be such a good thing.

It's the one that got away. I was notified it sold last night! If someone on the Cafe bought it, I'd love to hear about it.

I played one at Gryphon a while back and it did not have the volume of a teens A. Sure was pretty though.
