The new Session King mandolin?

Some of you might have been following the Session King uke thread over in the "4 string/5 string" section. Long story short, one design stood out as a likley Session King Mandolin.

Anyway, take a look at the video -



The flat top design is much quicker to make than my regular Celtic mandolins, so its a fair bit cheaper.

Tenor Guitar for a name comes to mind. It is probably an octave lower than a tenor guitar, right? So, four string mandolin is accurate.
I would stay with the guitar shape, it really has some nice tone along with the loudness. And Mahogany seems to be the wood often associated with projection. IMHOP

Me being (primarily) a saxophone player & GDAE Tenor guitar player would be inclined to call it a Soprano Guitar. Then in relation to a CGDA Tenor you may refer to it as an Alto Guitar. Whatever you call it "it's a beaut"

That is probably true, but you could probably say much the same for a guitar-shaped zouk. People may think it's a funny guitar.
Either way, on its own terms it seems to work very well, and indeed I think Nigel may have got a winner on his hands. I think it could also work well with a pick-up in a live situation.
