I bought one and was disappointed. My output volume was very low on my mandolin regardless of where I positioned it. The suction cup did not adhere to my instrument very well at all (which is a Breedlove mandolin) and kept falling off which was very frustrating so I could never trust it a live setting. Never trust a suction cup option- they flat out are not reliable regardless of what anyone tries to tell you. I also tried it on my violin with similar results. I know some are happy with theirs but I wish I could get my $200+ back as I felt I wasted my money and there are better options out there. I used the carpenter jack too but the volume was so low it was unusable even when dialing it in with a Fishman DEQ preamp, not to mention the feedback issues. Major disappointment here.
