    Hi Slim,

In theory they would work, but the propylene glycol solution that is normally used for cigars pumps out moisture around 72% Relative Humidity, which is too high for the recommended 45-50% for instruments (and I'd argue is too high for cigars, which do better in the 65-67% range). Plus, PG juice can't help reduce the humidity if above 72%.

If I had to make a recommendation, I'd say grab some Boveda 49% packs (they're like $13 a 10-pack) which actively maintain the desired humidity for a couple months each. Their higher RH products work great for cigars.

I use the Boveda pouches in their saddlebags. Some people have horror stories but I swear by them.

Thanks Will and Mike! good info.. I actually don't smoke cigars but was given a few cigars and the disk was in the bag with them. From what I see online this disk resembles the "Joe Cool Cigar Disk" or the "Cigar Daddy Disc". It has little gel balls in it. From what I read these do run around 70% RH. Dryness is not a concern at all in KY this time off but I was wondering if these could work for winter months.. Those boveda ones look much more promising.. Thanks!
