T.D., I have been a cat person for 54 of my 64 years, had many leave me over the years, I just hope all of my "fur people" are waiting for me wherever I end up. They are such a part of my life that I can't imagine life without them. Every time one of mine has to leave me, within a day or two I seem to find another cat that needs a home. Hopefully you will find another one to fill the hole in your heart.

Oh no...so, so sorry for your loss. I have a couple of cat shaped holes and a dog as well in my heart, the most recent was Pinot Noir just a year ago. His little bro Gabe is in my avatar and I don't know what I'm going to do when I lose him. My little Bean - as I called him - would sit with me when I played my mando on the couch...I sure miss him...

Best wishes TD and when the time is right another fur baby will find you and adopt you as their own.

    T. D. : So sorry for your loss. I have lived with cats for over fifty years now, and each time we lose one, it is like having a piece torn out of your heart. They are mysterious and wonderful creatures, who give way more than they take. Truly, the only bad thing about them is that they are given such a short time on this planet. But as Lao Tzu said, "The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long."

The sadness will gradually fade, but thankfully, all the good memories will remain.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm married to a veterinarian and have been with cats and dogs forever. I hope the memories of your beloved pet are always happy.

T.D., I’m sorry for your loss! That’s one of the hardest things I have ever gone through. Those little furry kids are like our own!

When the last of my last batch of six cats died I told my wife no more pets. One day she said there was a Binks at the pound and sent me a picture. Kids wanted a cat or dog wife wanted one I saw the picture and told them no he's mine. So off to the pound. We look around and no binks, he looked just like Binks from Hocus Pocus. But there is a white moo-cow cat jumping in the window at my kids while all the others slept. So we say yep that one! While filling out the paperwork we talk about our dog who died whom they got for us as well and remembered and that we had come in for Binks but found he wasn't there. Only he was! In isolation for a kitty cold. The lady asks do you want to see him? If you do you can't go back in with the rest of the cats. I naturally say yes. We walk into the isolation room and she says do you want to get him out I say yes, open the cage door reach in and he runs up my arm lays across my shoulders and starts purring. He sleeps with me every nite. Going on 11 years now. My point is, the long way around, that soon you will be claimed by another cat so prepare yourself! My problem is all the strays find me and I can't turn them away. It has cost me a small fortune. Binks is the Black cat and the other is Cherry the latest stray to find me last August. She is isolated in my house to a because she has Feline Aides, one of two strays that have shown up and live here that does. But they can't be around the others because it shared very easily. Condolences from another cat lover. My user name is "Tiltman" the nickname for my old cat Tilt. I adopted him from an animal shelter in Boston. He had a permanent head tilt due to an inner ear tumor that was removed - hence the name. He always looked like he was thinking about something...
He's been gone since '06, kidney disease.
