New Strap!

It didn't take very long before my shoestring strap broke... luckily I caught my instrument before it fell.

I have quite a bit of 500lb paracord leftover from other projects, so I figured I'd make something a little more reliable.

I just used this video tutorial and made the end loop smaller, and the overall length to size. It took about 25 feet of each color.

Happy with the end result, love the garish color. Of note for sure, is that it's definitely a heavy strap. Still, it fits just fine in the Eastman gigbag without having to remove it.

I’ve made several mandolin straps in similar fashion, though none quite so awesomely garish!! Nice job!

I pulled out a bunch of paracord this morning to try this out. I've got an old Gibson A1 with a heel button that currently has an exceptionally ugly and uncomfortable strap on it.

Thanks for the compliments folks! It was fun and easy to make, and is proving to be functional and reliable. Pals sometimes have a hard time with how ugly it looks, but it's growing on them
