Guild pushed hard to get Nashville endorsements, probably gave away a bunch of instruments to get them onstage. Not that they weren't excellent guitars, but you can see, from different periods, the results of aggressive marketing campaigns. Ovation guitars later, then Takamines with the good built-in piezo pickups.
It was nice to see Merle Travis's Martin with the aftermarket Semie Moseley neck and Fender-esque headstock.
