I've been talking about heading down to Raleigh for the tribal gathering for years, and finally did. It was worth it. Lots of good music, of course, and the chance to play more instruments than I could here at home in ten years, but also some unexpected treats. Too many to list here, but I want to especially thank the folks at the Bluegrass Hall of Fame booth and the University of Illinois Press booth. Lots of great music scholarship resources there in both places, and friendly faces. Ditto Dylan from County Sales and Rebel records, an incredible resource for those interested in American music.
