    Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are now offering the new Rubner RMp Precision F style mandolin sets. The new gearing ratio is 16:1
As far as the build quality, I will leave it up to other fine Forum users to offer their views.
The goal was to produce a medium priced machine set with second to none performance.
Thank you all for waiting almost 3 years for the new design.

Are they available in worm over configuration as well?

Yes, worm over will be available in about 2 weeks.
There will be 2 button post length choices for the top D & A string because of the tuning machine headstock position change with worm over configuration.

The tuners I see in the pics on the link posted by Mike look like they have the wrong turning direction for "worm under" configuration.

    Adrian,
The sets do have the correct turning direction. This was a older picture of worm gear configuration meant for worm over sets. Good eye!

Any chance this RMp technology will be offered in A style tuners? If so I look forward to it.

    Peter,
The new RMp gearing for A style sets will be available in the fall. Just too much going on right now!

It didn't happen to be an MDO 305, did it? I need to replace my tuning machines. It's a 2016 model.

It wasn't an MDO305, but they all have the same spacing to the best of my knowledge. Go for it!

Thank you, Marty! Would I just order A-style tuning machines? And solid head, not slotted, yes?

By the way, I stopped by your website. Your art is amazing (says the woodworker's wife).

Now Rubner has released the RMp F Style mandolin Precision Series with a Traditional design.
We had many interested in the new RMp machines but were not enthusiastic about the modern look. The new Traditional series has the finest gearing with vintage appeal.
Thanks again for all the feedback and encouragement the last 3 years!

Those look great! Are the F style available in worm-over as well?

Most of the new RMp sets are available with the worm over design right now.
The new Traditional Series will have worm over option in January 22.

Back when we could get them I replaced a set of no-name Chinese made tuners on my F5 with Rubner's. I like them just fine , and would have happily used them on other projects. But they've been unavailable so I've used other brands that honestly I've been just as satisfied with (Schaller, Grover).

Quality, reliability, service after the sale, in equal measure - that's what keeps my business. I don't care how cool or highly recommended they are if they can't be reached, can't answer questions, or are always out of stock of what I'm looking for.

Yes, the Rubner tuners look great and it will be good to have an alternate to the Modern Waverly tuners. About half of the photos on the website have worms that will tune in the wrong direction. Maybe just an oversight. The ordering instructions have both options for the right hand worm (worm under) and a left hand worm (worm over) so maybe that is okay.
