What I really miss are the old Musicians Friend cases they sold for $25.00 and fit a short neck mandolin perfectly. I still have one.

I think those are the ones I bought when they went on sale. Very useful for the ceaseless mandolins to protect them in my closet piles

do you have a preference between the two, Sean? I'm looking for a case for my vintage A1 and have heard good things about both.

Find the case you like, then check with the manufacturer. They know who returns cases.

I have a Superior A-style mandolin case CD-1521 for my 1906 Gibson A1 (and for my 55 Levin).

It fits both very well. I think they sell for around $160-$175.
