I'm fb friends with Anthony. I want to say that he's in remission and doing well. He's a good guy and I enjoy following him and of course, good updates about his health.

Just saw on Facebook that Anthony has unfortunately lost a long and courageous battle with his disease. A fantastic player, and a genuine nice guy.
    RIP Anthony.

Damn... what a shame... Anthony was a fantastic player who had, as all great players do, a phenomenal right hand. His cross-picking and flatpicking skills were off the hook. He was also very generous with his talent as he offered some great, free instructional vids on YouTube.

There is no justice when it comes to cancer. It takes the young and old, the rich and the poor, the "deserves to live" and the "deserves to die". I am confident that one day there will be a cure for many types of cancer. Let's hope it comes sooner than later...

    Anthony will be remembered...

Sad news indeed. I never met Anthony but I remember discovering his YouTube videos when I first began playing. That wasn't that long ago (circa 2010) but man what a godsend they were in the days before online lessons really took off. RIP.

I enjoyed and learned a lot from his instructional videos. I think I will try to dig them up run thru them again.

Oh no! I basically learnt to play from Anthony's videos, and the old musicmoose website. We need more people like Anthony, not less, he'll be much missed.

I took up the mandolin around 2007, and like some of you, Anthony's videos and MusicMoose.org were vital resources for me as I was learning to find my way with the instrument. Grateful to him, and now with a heavy heart I wish I would have told him so. RIP to a generous soul and a tremendous player.

I met him at Philadelphia Folk Festival back in the early 2000s and he hosted a workshop strictly for beginners. He was a great player and very kind. I'm sad to hear of his passing.
