I just got a copy of Rob Meldrum's book. It is exactly what I was looking for - certainly a great resource and generous offer.

Simply email him at rob.meldrum@gmail.com and put "Mandolin Setup" in the subject line.

I sent a request for another copy. I got a copy when he first offered it a few years ago, but when I got a different computer I lost it. After seeing this post I requested another copy of it. Very good book. Thank you Rob!

I just requested the mandolin set up e-book and am looking forward to receiving it. I am trying to set up a Silverangel (very nice mandolin) that I've had for a couple of years. I am a little bit nervous about messing around with it, but I just feel that it should be easier to fret, etc.

Should I leave well enough alone (I don't want to mess things up more)?

Just wanted to join in the gratitude for Rob Meldrum's generosity. He graciously sent me a copy of his set-up book a couple of months ago. It looks great! I had actually intended to use it to help with some adjustments on a mountain tenor banjo kit from Music Makers that I built. Unfortunately, just after I received it, I accepted in a new job in a new career and moved a family of 10 out of state--so I still haven't gotten back to the project.

Shout out to Rob for being so generous in sharing this resource. It made me so much more comfortable tweaking my starter Rogue and now I’m not afraid to tinker with my new Eastman if it needs it. I learned so much about mandolins and other stringed instruments thanks to his help.
