Just finished listening to his interview in the Mandolins and Beer podcast last week. I don't think there's another piece of music as intensely personal as Statman's Old Brooklyn-- I don't believe that there's anyone else on earth who could have expressed that background through an instrumental piece of music as Mr. Statman did in that album. Check it out.

    Stay well everyone.

Wow - this hits home in many ways. May the Holy One bless him and his family.

I hesitated to contact Andy until today as I figured he was in no shape to have other distractions but I'm happy to report I just contacted him and heard back almost immediately with positive news.

In short he said in part, "Both my wife and myself are doing much better although some symptoms ( fatigue, headache ) persist . We are very thankful considering the horrible suffering the virus can bring."

Great news indeed. I was starting to worry as there had not been an update in a bit. Sending all the best to Andy and his wife. His playing is an inspiration.
