I just put a set of D'Addario EJM74 monel strings on my Northfield 4th Gen F5 and I'm loving the sound. A bit more mellow (which I like) but still booming. Also, I understand that monel is much more resistant to corrosion. I live in Panama (high heat and humidity) so keeping a set of strings from rusting is a real problem.
And therein lies the question: The D'Addario comes with the entire set packaged in one sealed envelope. This is fine for changing the entire set. But if one string breaks I don't want to open the package for a replacement and then have the rest of the set corrode before I need them. Some strings (like the GHS A270) have each string separately packaged in a sealed envelope. These are great for replacements since the rest of the set will last until needed.
Does anybody make a monel string that is packaged in separate envelopes?
Thanks,
Steve
