    Default Mapes Stings

I am an ardent fan of Mapes strings and have been using them for a number of years now. Mapes has made piano strings for over 100 years as well as wire supplies for the other string sellers. They also make guitar, mandolin and other stringed instrument sets using a number of alloy options with wound strings. You can custom make your own sets as well. The stock mandolin sets I buy are $5.00 plus a low shipping fee that is the same for one set or more.

I decided I wanted to try an .0115 for the E string on the mandolin and couldn't find my way through the web site so I phoned the company. As always a lovely woman answered the phone and directed me to Eric who promptly sent me a handful of .0115 to try gratis.

IKIK, I have raved about Mapes here before but what the heck, they are that good.
