Default Mike Marshall's Virtual Mandolin Orchestra

Mike organized this with his ArtistWorks students. He wrote out parts and recorded guide tracks for us and then we all recorded our parts. Another student put the video all together. It was a fun project that turned out really nicely.

This is the coolest thing I have ever seen on the Cafe. Mike, Catrina and the whole Artist works program is AWESOME!!!

That’s really nice! Don, I see you in there. How did each person record and submit their part? Is there an app for your phone or tablet?

People volunteered for different parts and Mike divided us up into sections. Only one mandobass! We all did videos (using whatever device we had) playing along with the notation/tab, audio recordings, and video recordings Mike provided. We sent the videos to Martin who organized it all and I think he did the final video in Final Cut Pro. It was a way for everyone to play together virtually and fun to be a part of. Of course, Mike did a great job arranging all the parts so it came together nicely in the final video.

It was great fun to participate in, as is Mike's class anyway! Martin did a fantastic job putting it all together.
If I ever need to write a music-related resume, I'll of course be including that I was a member of the Mike Marshall Virtual Mandolin Orchestra
