Default Acoustic blues show on mandolin and banjos

Wednesday, May 20 at 9pm eastern in a Facebook Live show, I’ll be playing acoustic blues on mandolin, tenor banjo (Irish tuning), and five-string banjo (fifth removed and using a pick).

It’s pretty different from what you’re used to with those instruments, but is respectful of the genre. Feel free to check it out.

I'm looking forward to it, Paul. I enjoyed your show at The Log Drive Cafe, a couple of months back. I'd recommend that those who like old, acoustic blues check this out.

Robert Johnson's mother, describing blues musicians:
"I never did have no trouble with him until he got big enough to be round with bigger boys and off from home. Then he used to follow all these harp blowers, mandoleen (sic) and guitar players."

Thanks for the endorsement, Ranald. That show at The Log Drive is probably my favourite show I've ever played: Great audience, great room, and a very supportive environment!

Here's a link to the recording of last night's show if anyone is interested:
