That was one of the recent trio that each had a different burst. I'm digging Will's experimentation.

Absolutely. Not only is Will building some of the best sounding and playing mandolins out there, he has that higher artistic vision to experiment with very non-traditional finishes inspired by John Monteleone.

Dave...look forward to that review in BU. Will is really on his game, no question about that. One of THE best in the business.

Check out Will's FB page for some pics of his current PartsCaster Tele, on which he did some of the same 'bursting

Here's my review for Bluegrass Unlimited on the Kimble two-point. This is the same instrument that just sold at Music Emporium. Its owner is beyond words, he tells me

This was a great review! I read it in the physical copy. I was lucky enough to be able to play this mandolin too, and it is as great sounding as described.

That was me :-) I've had that Kimble (#282) for about a week. It's outstanding. I've been alternating playing it and my Nugget F5. They both have "it" in spades. The Monteleone inspired sunburst is really nice. It looks much cooler in person than in the pictures.

I would appreciate some advice. I own two point J67. Am I correct in saying the J shows the model type and the 67 shows that his is the 67th mandolin of all types that Will built to that point. Thanks

My recent #294 with the Monteleone burst. This one and my J2 (see post #24) are simply incredible to play and listen to.

We have a local player in the State College area who plays one in his bluegrass group, Grain. It sounds amazing. Big tone and volume. It cuts through in a single mic setting with banjo, guitar, and upright bass.
