I strung my uke like a CGDA mandola, but the strings were too tight, so I tuned down a tone. Fun to play.

Nice!
Well done.
I've been playing the Prelude on a baritone uke CGDA.
It's amazing how much tone you can get from those little boxes with a light touch.
Very nice!

A bunch of stuff with four strings
Thanks, guys. Appreciated. I hate to admit it, but it's easier for me to play on the ukulele than the mandolin, despite the tuning being the same.
Rob, I have enjoyed some of your classical guitar videos too.

Bravo, what a great idea! Sounds wonderful. Gonna pull out a uke and give it a try!
The timbre really matches the music and very well-played. Now I have UAS.

Assuming you're playing a tenor uke there, strung with a low G set of strings? That's what I'm working with, but only able to get mine down to C-G-D-A (which is cool because same as cello) but anything lower and it doesn't hold up. Even at low C it's too flappy and weak. Have you tried different string gauges for tuning in Fifths?
Aquila sell sets of 5ths-tuning for ukulele. One set is the same pitch as the mandolin/violin, which can only be used on the small soprano uke. The other is for Concert ukulele, CGDA. I'm using the concert set, but tuned down a tone because of the added length of the tenor.

I hope that helps, Doug?
Classical guitar strings work very well on a baritone (CGDA).
And there is a huge variety of options.
