Nothin good ever lasts.
The Live from Here house band has to be one of the best line-ups ever, and the shows when they had Haas, Jarosz, and O'Donovan were always my favorites.
Chris introduced me to so many musicians that I would have not have known about if not for LFH.

Hey! Don't I still get credit for making the call on Thile taking over PCH from Keillor!??!?
While this is a huge letdown, musical evolution is neural. This won't be the last we hear from Chris (obviously!) and/or this format.
Funny thing; when I saw the title of the post I read it wrong assuming that they were done doing "Live from HOME"... That is a bummer though, I didn't ever get to hear it except in YouTube rerun, but I did enjoy it.

Sarah just posted this one from her new album. No mando content, but so very sweet. And maybe the last LFH video post!
I think it was unfortunate that LFH had to start its on-air life as the replacement/successor to PHC. They are very different shows, and it must have been tough for Thile to deal with a lot of the "He's no Garrison Keillor" comments that seemed to be very popular at the beginning. I thought it was very impressive how he reformed the show, played to his strengths, created an INCREDIBLE live musical presentation every week, cast a very wide net musically, and for us here at the Cafe, shone the spotlight quite brightly on our little ol' tater bug. That show will truly be missed in this household; I always tried to tune in live if I could, and caught some great stuff after the fact, too. In any case, it will be interesting to see what happens next. I am sure losing a hometown gig like this when you've got a young family is not great news in the Thile household.
Side note: it was also nice to hear the comedian Tom Papa get better and funnier as the show progressed, IMHO.
