Here's the lowdown on the wood on this one, direct from Adrian:
Your octave was made with an old western Red Cedar Top and a very special set of figured silver maple from a log felled in our county. We call this wood “Michigan Koa” for its similar color, amber and reddish brown hues of mineral deposits and the very cool figure this log happened to have. We absolutely love this wood and have made everything from armrests to pickguards to slabbed furniture from it. Very unique.
