Still a work in progress, and the mandolin was a little stiff that day, but I hope you enjoy it!

There are two things to aim at in life: first, to get what you want; and, after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second. Logan Pearsall Smith, 1865 - 1946

Nice! Got a sprightly step to it.
Red-winged blackbirds are one of my favorite birds. They would summer at my mom's old house, busying themselves behind the barn and pond and into the fields on the other side. Their call is one of the sounds of summer, for me.
My old job came with a 65' high lookout tower. It was my duty to climb those 100 steps twice a day to run up the flag in the morning and take it down at night. (And yes, I would hum "Reveille" during the raising and "Taps" during the lowering.) Birds loved it up there, usually mourning doves, who would bill and coo, as they say. In the spring of 2019 a red-winged blackbird came around. I knew the call right away, of course. Then for a while, now and then I would see him on the tower, calling for a mate. He also liked to perch on the mirrors of the tourist trains and trolleys, curious about his reflection, as if he had found a mate. Eventually he did, and they moved off and did what birds do. But I managed to get a few pics along the way. Feel free to use one for your CD single cover.
But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. - Dennis Miller
