Thinking of my next e-mando build; I’ve been looking at DiMarzio blade style “strat” humbuckers.
There seems to be quite a few models available and I was wonder if anyone has any thoughts or recommendations?
Cheers Gary

ProTrack DP188 has been the go to for a lot of builders. I have used the DP184 for those that requested a heavier "rock" pickup. I believe the DP188 is standard on a Mann instrument. Personally, I haven't used them in years since Almuse has done such a fine job dialing in their pickups. I don't think you'd be able to distinguish between the tone of the DP188 and the Almuse MG-4HB. I have used Almuse pickups on 60+ instruments. Better build and better price.

Thanks again, Andrew, that's worth knowing.
All the best Gary

I've used Schaller Strat sized bladed Humbuckers on my 5 course Mandocellocaster since it was built 20 odd years ago. They work really well: great sustain and good tone tapped or untapped. They have a good website and do direct order.
I built a hollow body 8 string with a single dp181 in it. Positioned towards the bridge but angled so that the treble is closer to the neck. I think it sounds good, very clean. But I've only built 2 emandos, the first having almuse pickups, so I've not really heard or compared it to other pickups.

Yep, move the neck joint to the 12th fret like Tiny's Bigsby, and reposition the pickups slightly forward and I'd be real happy. Drop the f holes to cut the feedback. Four or 5 strings.
