Default Poll for the Song a Week Social Group Week #532

This poll is for the Song A Week Social Group Week #532.

One vote per member of the social group. Please feel free to link to videos of these tunes, as a reply to this discussion, to help others decide!

If you are a regular member, you know that our polls have been weekly polls, for years, but that over the last few months I've been experimenting with changing that. Our poll will be a biweekly poll. Hopefully, that interval will be enough to keep your interest, and also give you enough time to learn it. I will try to announce the winner on Friday, October 9, in the Song A Week Social Group forum.

If you are not yet a member, there's a link at the bottom of this post that will take you there! Please join us over there!

Apparently "Hole in the Wall" was written by Henry Purcell, 1659-1695. Here's a cool video of the tune being played on what appear to be Vulcan sitars.

My extensive research into this tune (typing the title into Google) further reveals that "Hole in the Wall" is in reference to a cozy English pub.

The Hole in The Wa' is one of the oldest pubs in Dumfries, Scotland, and was frequented back in the 18th century by our national Bard Robert Burns, Mike. In November 2013 Max Houliston, one of Scotland's finest accordionists, celebrated being landlord of this bar for 50 years! That's a lot of drams poured and pints pulled! He is also the composer of the great Scottish waltz "Sarah".

OK, that's it -- next trip is to Dumfries, honestly. I liked Ireland but I love Scotland. Totally ready to go back. My initial sortie was Glasgow, up to Inverness and back to Edinburgh. Adored the country. Adored it! But didn't make it to Dumfries -- yet.

Here’s a bunch of abc files of music from mainly south of Scotland.
There are two transcriptions of Hole in the Wall, in Bb and G, along with the harmony parts.

Henry Purcell, who wrote the tune, was actually born and lived south of Scotland too.
    -in London.

I dare you to learn the Bb version. Just for extra credit.
