Default CMHF Historical Instrument Concert with Monroe’s F5

Last night the CMHF aired their fundraiser that showcased some of the historical instruments they care for. So great to hear them in the hands of some modern day masters. Monroe’s old F5 sounded awesome! I highly encourage you to watch the whole show. Aside from Monroe’s mandolin, Mother Maybelle’s L5, there was Tim McGraw on Keith Whitley’s guitar, Rodney Crowell sitting in Guy Clark’s workshop playing a guitar he built....so many special moments.

And no mandolin content but this was the performance of the night for me....

I remember a time when getting to hear Monroe's mandolin played again would have elicited some excitement around here. Strange times we're living in. Strange indeed.....
