Epoxy pore fill and sunburst

Andrew: I saw a photo of your guitars prior to epoxy filling. What type of masking material did you use; the frisket film? If so, the extra tack?

Yep, I use the Grafix matte extra tack frisket, which is 0.001" thick. It's amazing stuff, and worked great for that purpose. I score around it with an exacto after the finish is all buffed out, and it peels right off, epoxy and all. To prevent get a bump at the edge it's best to just apply the epoxy over the whole bridge area, pretending it's not there.

I'll give the Grafix frisket a go. Frisket - makes me think of brisket. Brisket would probably be a bit too greasy.
