Not that I kmow of but I assume you know that on youtube bottom right there a 'settings' icon which allows you to play at 75% speed or 50% speed so doing it that way is a great feature.
Yes even down to .25% but it still took me 3 hours to decipher a simple Tarantella. There is software that will give you chords in a few minutes. Single notes, should be even simpler.
I contacted a company that will do it for you but they wanted 45 euro for a tune of 90 seconds so I earned 15 € an hour while doing it myself ;-)

3 hours for a tune sounds pretty good to me. It takes me forever.

If it is the tarantella you talked about in another thread, there are transcriptions all over the place for that one. That is one of the standards of Italian music and along with Funiculi, Sorrento, etc. is one of those pieces of music that says to anyone, "Italian!"
OTOH I find that like anything else, if you do a bunch of transcribing it will get easier the more you do it. It is a good way to learn a tune, too, so it really isn't time wasted.

Yes, I agree with Jim there, transcribing and also ear training are a necessity for playing mandolin. Don’t worry about the time though, it’ll speed up quickly.
Try to think about intervals while you’re doing it.
Like, are these two notes separated by a fourth or a fifth.
What does a jump up to the fifth look like on the fretboard?
If you have a note on the D string, where would it’s third on the string above (higher pitch) be?
You have a note on the fourth string, where is the same note on the first string? -That is, two octaves above.
And one octave above any specific note, where on the fretboard is that?
youtube videos can be converted to mp3 audio files and mp3 files can be converted to midi files.
Music typesetting systems theoretically can produce a score from a midi file.
I know that lilypond (the system I use) does. Now, how good it is I cannot tell, I never tried.
Yes I had some tabs on the Tarantella but wanted an exact transcription of a specific edition, there are so many editions.
Yes it also struck me while making the tabs, that I did learn the tune as well while doing that. :-)
I have found AnthemScore, which I will try but I need to fire up my big computer as it is only available in 64 bits and min. 4 Gb memory.
