    That current on on eBay is very nicely ornamented. I wonder how much that little funnel actually adds to the tone or directionality. Reminds me a little of Selmer-Maccaferri guitar soundhole inserts.

    The 1893 patent is for the sound contraption under Isaiah Nightingale and there is an 1899 design patent for the pickguard under Charles Nightingale. Both attached here.
