    Default Heiden Heritage

I recently took delivery of the latest and one of the last heritage models to come out of Michael’s shop. I’ll let the photos do the talking!

I had a beer with Mr. Heiden at Wintergrass and got to play this Heritage and new F Artist he had with him. Both were incredible, but this Heritage nearly knocked my hat into Puget Sound. One of the best mandolins I've ever played

VERY classy mandolin! I'd love to hear a good recording of it. Varnish finish?

Thanks! Yes it is a varnish finish. Michael switched to only using varnish a number of years ago.

I once played a Heiden A-5 at TAMCO in Brighton UK. It was a masterful instrument. There is a sound test that you were able to take on Michael Heidenīs website (that I havenīt acessed in years so I do not know if itīs still there), that was great fun. You could check if you could correctly identify a Heiden vs. a Lloyd Loar. I got it right but both instruments sounded incredibly close and very fine.

My only beef is the optics of the fretboard extension and the color sheme - and thatīs absolutely a mere matter of personal taste -.

This instrument here shows a beautiful wood selection and the beautiful "wheat" headstock inlay pattern. Play it in good health.

That mandolin looks like it could keep you off the streets and out of trouble for a long time. Please give us a review and an audio file. Simply gorgeous!

Congratulations on getting a beautiful Heiden Heritage mandolin!! I'm sure it sounds just as good as it looks and I love that dark stain that Michael puts on his mandolins!! Also, my favorite headstock inlay pattern that Michael puts on his mandolins is the "Wheat" inlay.

    Enjoy.......
