"Christmas Cheer", a decidely not-cheerful sounding but great minor-key tune from 1703 edition of Playford's "Dancing Master." I dug out my alto recorder as I think it will fit into the sound I envisage for this tune on fiddle and mandolin.

" Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" This Bach piece has been on my bookshelf for ages. I got it down this week to work on. I have the shortened versions and the full monty. Trying to decide which one. Johann would probably NOT approve of the short version. LOL There are some lovely performances of this piece on YouTube. The biggest challenge for me is to play it smoothly with expression. Right now, I am too mechanical and choppy.
