Hi. I am looking for recommendations for a good luthier near Atlanta, Georgia to set up my new Eastman 615 mandolin. I live an hour and a half south of Atlanta.

You could ask the Atlanta Mandolin Orchestra: https://www.atlantamandolins.com/

Randy Wood is over in Savannah, GA. Not sure how close that is to Columbus.

I can vouch personally for Marty Jacobson. Great guy and great work. But a distance from you.

A couple lists, however I feel you have a good one already replying to the thread:

In Peachtree City, I still think that Marty Jacobson is your best bet. Marty is in the Mableton/Smyna area and really, really, really knows his stuff. Other options are Atlanta Violin in Roswell and Maple Street Guitars in Buckhead. I can also vouch for Marty, he has worked on my Silverangel and helped me recently a lot with my first build, and I also have one of his mandolins... great stuff.

Thanks guys. Spencer, I think Tom's point was that he's a good half hour closer to the OP than I am... and I know his work is always set up as nicely as any instruments I've ever played!

Thanks for the kind words. I definitely agree with everyone recommending Marty. And, yes, that was my reason for posting since the OP is in Columbus. Sometimes I think folks around the country don't realize how big Georgia and Atlanta are. Or maybe those of us here just aren't accustomed to driving the distances that others have to drive to get their mandolins worked on.
