    Default NMC: R.I.P Harold Budd

Learned of the passing of Harold Budd, minimalist composer who worked with Brian Eno, Robin Guthrie, Clive Wright and many others.
When I think the top songs I would like with me on a desert island at least 3 are composed by Harold Budd.

    The Gunfighter from "Lovely Thunder"

The Messenger from Music for Three Pianos

Rub with Ashes from "The Serpent in Quicksilver" for which I could not find a link, this was actually the first "minimalist" music I heard, that made me realize I really like minimalist art and music and ideology.

I always wanted to to arrange Harold Budd Music for mandolin, now I I have no excuse.

"Mean Old Timer, He's got grey hair, Mean Old Timer he just don't care
Got no compassion, thinks its a sin
All he does is sit around an play the Mandolin"

I was introduced to Harold Budd from the collaboration he did with The Cocteau Twins on the Moon and the Melodies album. Much like you mentioned above this would be one of my top 5 desert island albums.
