Bowl back, yes but the sound is more like a capo-at-the-fourth octave mandolin.

-that actually is a really cool rhythm.

Oh, yes! There doesn't seem to be a mandolin in the recording (to my ears anyways) ... just TS holding one 😂

I know this is gonna drive up sales as young folks are going to flock to mandolins! Haha!

    Haha! Good question 🤯

I listen to a lot of different types of music and try to keep myself open to "newer" styles. This new album by Taylor actually sounds pretty good to me. Its simpler than her other, newer, more pop music.

Also, my 8yo daughter listens to music on my YouTube account... she chooses Taylor Swift most days.... meh.

Well, having watched Sierra Hulll’s version of “Last Great American Dynasy” several times on YouTube I’d say this: SH covering Anybody is a pretty strong endorsement of the songwriter’s talent. And if somehow Sierra ever ends up backing TS in a show, I would take my daughter to that show in a heart beat. I don’t listen to TS except by chance and in passing but I’d say both she and SH are tremendous talents

I agree! Why y’all pickin’ on Zach for watching Taylor? Okay, I don’t follow TS and never heard one of her albums, but I’m very familiar with her musical history/story, and she has my respect as a musician. Besides, Banjo Ben Clark and a bunch of other musicians I dig have been part of her touring groups. What a gig!

Looks like possibly a decent quality Italian bowlback, maybe even a Vinaccia or one of their disciples.

Many years ago I got a call from a prop guy from Jersey Boys the show about Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons. He needed an Italian mandolin so I sold them a bowlback. I never saw the show but at least one of my former mandolins did. Someone might even have played it. I think they did want something that could be played. I think it was in an Italian restaurant scene.

All right, I watched to see what is going on.
It appears no mandolins were played in recording that song.

I am glad enough it was in that video. I also glad nobody called me up to ask if that was a banjolukee like mine.

Someone on FB asked me if it was a "Ukelele or a Mandolin like mine". 🙄

Another Taylor Swift song with no mandolin:
"Give me a mandolin and I'll play you rock 'n' roll" (Keith Moon)

Sorry, too “current” musical pablum for me. A “tweedle” on a bowlback does not say mandolin content to me, a sight gag at best. Sorry, just my opinion.

You are entitled to your opinion.

Overcoming current conditions, the lass is making her music and portraying her role.
She does it well. We might keep in mind we are not part of the target audience.
Maybe we should be generous in allowing those 100 million fans to have tastes
    different from ours.
