It’s here! Really stunning instrument. So fun to design this with Lawrence and see it come to be. I kind of wanted a mini octave and this fits the bill. Lots of volume and tone to experiment with. Video coming once it settles in and realizes it’s a mandolin.

Blown away by how gorgeous it is. Was going to ask what's the scale length but saw it on Nyberg's facebook page (14"). Congrats. Hope to see you playing it on your youtube channel soon.

I saw Lawrence’s IG post the other day where he played a slowed-down version of “Over the Waterfall” on it, letting the richness of its tone really ring out. You’ve got a gem there!

The new Nyberg mandolin. First video is Concertina Reel and Calliope House. Forgive my foot slapping against the floor. I think it’s mostly in time 😂

Second video is some of Evening Prayer Blues. This instrument brings a whole new dimension to it that’s not fully caught on video. I’m going to have to get a better mic to record this thing. It’s got some serious power!

Well, that's an exceptional mandolin. Love when you hit the chord in Evening Prayer Blues and just let it ring. Congrats and wonderful playing. Garrity, is that an Irish name?

The new madno sounds great, and you are nailing those triplets like nobody's business. Great playing Shaun.

I’m sorry that I kinda missed this thread ~ otherwise I would have gone over to Lawrence’s place to check it out before it shipped 😔

Lawrence lives the next island over and our sons play together in high school band. He’s a great guy and by now you know that he also makes wonderful instruments. I had him build us an octave mandolin a while back and it’s fantastic - volume, tone and the sustain! The binding is stunning and really compliments it. I also have turquoise fret markers. I played one of his mandolas and it was probably the nicest mandola that I have ever played. Your mandolin is a totally different instrument that your Heiden and Kimble, but I think it will fit in nicely and bloom. Thanks for sharing!
