I'm having no luck finding a cell phone holder for a music stand, specifically, one that attaches to the top or side for taking videos of my playing. Any suggestions?

I use a small phone tripod attached to the back of the music stand with stretched old bicycle inner tubes.
Doesn’t look so pretty but works great.
10 seconds to detach it and use it as a tripod again.
I have an inexpensive phone holder in my car that clamps onto the air vent fine. It should work. Just do a web search for "car air vent phone holder" and you will find several options.
I have a music stand with a steel plate and mobile with a magnetic cover/frame.

There are dozens available to attach a ‘phone to a bike; perhaps one of these would work but it depends on how you can attacch itvto the music stand.
I have one I picked up on Musician’s Friend...fits either a phone or an ipad. Search on tablet holder and you should find some options.
Simple and cheap (I don’t have one so I can’t guarantee its quality): phone holder

'Stand outs' are slide out wings to make Manhasset music stands 4 pages wide ,
surely you can set your phone on one of those ?

I don’t know. That looks a bit unstable to me with that flexible goose neck flailing in the breeze. I guess it is worth a try to see if it works to clip on the top of a Manhasset stand. I can’t imagine that it would work with a full size tablet but maybe with a phone.

I actually have the one that Jim G recommended. I like it, but it's made to clamp onto a round rod like a mike boom or an Atlas stand.

Sherry, I think that Tzumi you're looking at might be a good thing for clipping on the flat plate of the music stand, but it might also allow for some "jitter", especially with that long neck. Might not be much of an issue depending on how stable the floor and your stand are. I have to be careful not do jostle the mike stand I have my clamp-on attached to, but it's generally not a problem.
I assume the music stand has music on it. How about a second music stand, directly behind and adjusted slightly higher.
I ordered this and it arrived today; however, I ordered model 6984 (Smartphone and Tablet Grip), whereas model 6983 (Tablet Grip) was delivered. It works fine for my phone, though.
As to the stability of the cord, it is thick and actually difficult to bend. I believe it would hold the weight of a tablet just fine.
Rubber bands to put your phone on a Folding music stand?

Here's the Tzumi Tablet/Phone Holder.
Sherry, that looks like it worked out well! Thanks for posting the photo.
Are you happy with the clip-base? The goose neck seems much better than what I was imagining - it's nice that it's covered, and that you found it rigid enough to support the device.
Alfons, the clip-base works great. At first I tried to pull it apart. Then I realized that piece above the clip unscrews. Once you do that, you can open the clip as wide as you need. Then just screw it back.
I have a pop socket on my phone and at first thought it wouldn't work. But I found I could treat the top of the pop socket as the top of the phone.
Sherry, where did you get your phone/tablet holder? I went to WalMart today, supposedly they had it in stock, but after I braved all the crowds , I was SOL. Empty shelf. Ebay wants an arm and a leg.
Wally world ships to your door , cheaply .. so go to their website..

This tray from K&M might be a good solution to hold several items, including your phone.
