    Default Bridge post sources

I am currently not able to get the bridges I want so I have to make my own. The posts that LMI sells are 4mm, and I am wondering if that isn't a bit thick. What would be a good size and source for the thumbwheel posts and wheels?

Typical bridge posts and thumbwheels are 5-40 thread. I believe they are available on Amazon.

Also available from Axiom Inc. www.axinc.net
They also sell saddles and bases separately, and are our most complete source for celluloid bindings and pickguard material.

The posts are standard hardware store item. Search for allen socket set screw 5-40 thread. You will probably have problem fingd them in small emough quantity from online vendors. Perhaps some better local store will have them...
Some bridge producers use metric 3-3.5-4mm sizes, the 4mm being awfully too thick fro a mandolin bridge. I've used 3mm metric threaded rod cut to pieces in the past and meny EU builders use that as well.

Thanks everyone. I checked the Axiom site and put it in my bookmarks. Thanks for the metric info also.
